Food and drink sector people on the move in August – in pictures
Paice, who served as food and farming minster from 2010 to 2012, will take up the role on October 31 when current chairman Bill Mustoe steps down at the company’s AGM.
Mustoe said Paice would bring considerable knowledge and experience to the position.
"As a former minister of state responsible for agriculture and food and shadow minister for agriculture and rural affairs for six years prior to that, he brings considerable knowledge and experience of not only the domestic market, but also the international dynamics of the dairy industry.”
New career opportunities
Meanwhile, Paul Berryman stood down as ceo of Leatherhead Food Research in order to pursue new career opportunities.
Elsewhere, industry support body Seafish appointed Tom Pickerell as its new technical director, brewing research company Campden BRI appointed Ed Wray to its brewing and malting team and Paul Walsh became an additional director on the board of United Spirits.
There were also appointments at pork processor Moy Park and ingredients supplier Beacon Foods.
